Friday 12th May 2017 saw the consecration of the Motorcyclist’s Lodge. The event was held at the Novotel, Southampton and over 200 freemasons, some arriving on motorbikes, attended.
The Motorcyclist’s Lodge, which will meet in Farnborough will combine freemasonry with the love of motorcycling, by holding a lodge meeting followed by a ride-out to various locations around the province, weather conditions permitting!
It is the sixth specialist lodge formed in the last five years under the leadership of the Provincial Grand Master, Mike Wilks. The others are a scouting lodge, rugby lodge, motorsports lodge, football lodge and sailing lodge.
Its first master, Paul Haynes, said: “As a keen motorcyclist, I am looking forward to recruiting new members to the Lodge and sharing experiences with fellow biking enthusiasts.”
