Provincial Grand Master’s Lifelites Appeal

Provincial Grand Master’s Lifelites Appeal for Naomi House and Jacksplace

During our tercentenary year our Provincial Grand Master has expressed a wish that Lodges consider providing financial support to this very worthwhile charity that is close to his heart. Lifelites are hoping to return to Naomi House and Jacksplace in 2017 but need the funds to provide a new package of equipment for the training.

Even small amounts can have a tangible and lasting impact and it is hoped that Lodges will be enthused by what Lifelites are doing in our area and see their way to supporting them.

Please send the donation direct to Lifelites with a covering note to say this is for the “Hampshire & IoW ring fenced fund”. Alternatively, and to benefit from Gift Aid tax reclaim, Lodges may ask brethren to use Relief Chest Gift Aid envelopes and send funds raised to the appeal’s Relief Chest at the Grand Charity, number E0170.

Lifelites

Through the magic of technology, Lifelites gives life-limited and disabled children in hospices opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have.

Lifelites provides specialist entertainment and educational technology packages for these young people to learn, play, be creative, control something for themselves and communicate – for as long as it is possible.

They do this for 10,000 children at every baby and children’s hospice across the British Isles. In our area, the hospice that receives valuable support from Lifelites is Naomi House and Jacksplace.

Lifelites installed its latest package at Naomi House and Jacksplace in 2013. It is still working closely with the hospice to provide guidance for staff when they need it and Lifelites’ tech team is on hand whenever they need support. Lifelites are hoping to go back to the hospice in 2017 but need the funds to provide a new package of equipment for the training.

Naomi House and Jacksplace

Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices provide expert hospice care to more than 340 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.

When a child or young person is diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, Naomi House & Jacksplace becomes their home from home. Their teams take the time to really get to know the family and fully understand their wishes. They offer them vital respite support, giving them the chance to recharge their batteries and regroup in a calm, fun and welcoming environment. In times of emergency Naomi House & Jacksplace is there, giving families the help they need through difficult times.

This standard of care costs money; £7 million per year. With only 10% of income coming from Government and statutory sources, Naomi House & Jacksplace are reliant on the support from people like us.

Naomi House & Jacksplace are enthusiastic users of the packages provided by Lifelites.
