Holiday Offer for Children with Physical and Learning Difficulties

Offer of Holidays for children with physical and learning disabilities and request for volunteer help.

Brethren, I have been contacted by W Bro Peter Byrne PPGStwd, a member of Ye Olde Bargate Lodge No 5296, who is Fund Raising Director Trustee of a Registered Charity called Liberty Child which has a website www.libertychild.org.uk

This Charity, staffed entirely by volunteers, pays for all, or part of, the cost of holidays for children from the Southampton area who have physical and learning disabilities. Their aim is to take 25 children, each year, on active holidays giving them, in most cases, their first taste of independence. It also provides the parents and carers of these children a very welcome short break. The website provides much more detail.

Unusually, this Charity is not asking for donations, although they are always received with grateful thanks, but are looking for suitable children to benefit from the holidays on offer. They are also looking for volunteers to help in this project.
