The Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight is about to embark on an initiative to bring awareness among the general public of Freemasonry and Freemasons, particularly in local communities, as well as the widespread charitable activity promoted by Freemasons.
Encapsulating the major principles of Brotherly Love Relief and Truth, Province have funded the building and provided the annual running costs for an exhibition Trailer to attend County Shows, and Exhibitions.
Whilst recruiting is not the main thrust of this drive, inevitably there may be enquiries from the public with regard to becoming a Freemason and appropriate literature and Provincial contact details will be available.
The initiative will be administered by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge along with non steward brethren with appropriate experience of the job in hand; local area teams will be set up under the guidance of Area Managers and the exhibition stand will be manned by volunteer brethren from Lodges local to where the Show takes place. This will ensure that no one team has too far to travel and will provide for local knowledge and charitable causes supported in their area.
This is an exciting and important project for this Province and is vital for the benefit and long term success of Freemasonry but this success can only be brought about by volunteer assistance.
At each show the stand will be manned by two people and be organised on a rota basis. Training will be provided, and is mandatory, to ensure consistency in the message and information being imparted to the public and to ensure that everyone complies with the rules and regulations of the show.
Your assistance in volunteering to help and work on our exhibition stand to make this project effective would be much appreciated.
