Lifelites is recruiting Ambassadors – can you help?
Lifelites is a unique charity that gives children with life-limiting conditions and profound disabilities the opportunity to learn, play, explore and communicate using the latest assistive and inclusive technologies. They do this for 9,000 children at all 49 baby and children's hospices across the UK and Ireland. So wherever you are, there will be children from your area benefiting from your local Lifelites project.
Originally established as a masonic initiative in 2000, Lifelites became a separately registered charity in 2006 and has since worked hard to raise all their own funds for the work they do. At a recent address to Grand Lodge, Lifelites Chief Executive, Simone Enefer-Doy told the gathering about the importance of their work for terminally ill and disabled children and how it has developed over the years.

With only 5 staff, the charity is looking to expand its remit by recruiting volunteer Ambassadors.
Promoting Lifelites
This role is primarily to represent and support Lifelites locally in a variety of ways, including: giving a short talk to a Lodge or other local group, attending cheque presentations and thanking donors face- to-face, placing a collection tin in a shop or taking part in a physical challenge.

Training hospice staff
Another fantastic way of supporting the work of the charity is to train hospice staff. For the technology to be fully beneficial to young people in hospices, it is essential that hospice staff receive ongoing training – they may be new members of staff who have never used the equipment before or they may simply need a refresher course. Lifelites is looking for Ambassadors who are willing to learn how to operate its specialist equipment so they can pass the knowledge on to hospice staff and ensure that it is always put to good use.
Lifelites Training Manager, Caroline Powell, is inviting supporters to attend a training day in Birmingham on 26th November 2014. An interest in technology is useful but above all, she is looking for calm and approachable people who can communicate their enthusiasm to hospice staff.

The great thing about being an Ambassador for Lifelites is that you can do as little or as much as you like, when you like.
