The donations have been collected and managed by The Freemasons’ Grand Charity.
After giving careful consideration of several regeneration projects proposed by charities working in the disaster zone, the funds were given to Plan UK. The Freemasons’ Grand Charity receives regular reports from Plan UK on the progress
of the project, so that it can help to ensure the best use of the funds.

One year ago on Friday 8th November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan, the worst storm to have ever hit land, caused widespread destruction across the Philippines; 195mph winds and massive storm surges flattened cities and destroyed industries and infrastructure. More than 6,000 people were killed and an estimated 14.1 million have been affected.
In response, The Freemasons’ Grand Charity donated £50,000 to the International Red Cross Red Crescent to support the immediate relief efforts with hygiene kits, emergency shelters and medical aid.
Soon after, many Freemasons called upon The Freemasons’ Grand Charity to help
them raise money to support the long-term recovery operations in the area. The creation of a dedicated Relief Chest (the Grand Charity’s charitable donation
